- Mobilize the community We marshal the talent and resources of parents, citizens, and businesses to strengthen every public school.

Leaders Take Ninth Grade Counts Fieldtrip
On Tuesday, July 13th more than 40 education, business, and community leaders took a fieldtrip to one of five Ninth Grade Counts partner sites to see the Ninth Grade Counts initiative in action. Following the fildtrips to David Douglas High School, El Programa Hispano at David Douglas, Marshall High School, Neighborhood House at Gray Middle School, and Reynolds High School participants gathered at Concordia University for a discussion about Ninth Grade Counts and how to get involved in the lives of Portland's youth.
The Portland Schools Foundation has MovedEffective Monday, June 14th, the Portland Schools Foundation has a new home. Our phone and fax numbers are the same, but our new home in inner NE Portland is 2069 NE Hoyt Street, kiddy corner to KATU and in the same building as The Portland Mercury. We hope that you will stop by and see our new digs.

PSF Announces Significant Investments in Schools Throughout Portland
Today, the Portland Schools Foundation released the names of the organizations and programs that were granted PPS Community-based Equity Grants, The Boeing Company Ninth Grade Counts Teacher Inquiry Grants, and First Octave Grants. This is good news for kids in Portland's schools as it infuses more than $820,000 into their classrooms and programs in the 2010-11 school year. Read the release. New Burgerville Sandwich Supports PSF Sponsored Project
Lovers of local fresh food can now eat to support schools in PPS. Burgerville's recently launched Wild Coho sandwich benefits eat.think.grow., a sponsored project of the Portland Schools Foundation that works towards establishing edible gardens at PPS schools. Read the full release.
2010 Ninth Grade Counts Opportunities Announced
As part of its Connected by 25 initiative, the Portland Schools Foundation has partnered with local government, nearly twenty community-based organizations, and Portland’s major school districts to launch the 2010 Ninth Grade Counts (NGC) program. NGC provides a network of opportunities for at-risk youth transitioning between 8th and 9th grade to keep these students on track.
